Embracing Nature: A Journey Back to the Earth
Growing up, I never thought much about nature. Like many people, I was absorbed in the fast pace of everyday life constantly moving from one task to the next, with my eyes fixed on screens rather than the world around me. Nature was something I passed by, a backdrop to the routine chaos. But that changed when I began to actively seek it out, and through that experience, I discovered a new kind of peace and wonder I had never known.
It all started with a simple walk. After a stressful week, I decided to visit a nearby nature reserve. I wasn’t expecting anything extraordinary, just some fresh air and time away from my phone. But the moment I stepped onto the forest trail, I felt a shift. The dense trees,
the soft crunch of leaves beneath my feet, the birds calling from high above—it was as though nature itself was gently reminding me to slow down and breathe. I realized I had forgotten what silence sounded like, the kind of silence that isn’t empty but filled with the soft, steady rhythm of the Earth.
As I walked deeper into the forest, I started to notice the little things—the sunlight filtering through the canopy, casting shadows that danced on the forest floor, or the way a breeze stirred the leaves, making them shimmer like emeralds in the light. I felt a connection to everything around me, a feeling I hadn’t anticipated.
I began to spend more time outdoors.
